Safari Stampede

Although I've taken great pains to conceal it in my pictures, there are hordes of tourists in the Maasi Mara in the migration season tracking the multitudes of wildebeest. The Mara was the complete opposite of Tarangire, where we rarely saw other tourists.

It happened that the BBC had a film crew in the Mara while we were there, and all the driver guides kept their radios tuned to the BBC crews’ frequency. So typically, as we roamed, when the BBC found something, everyone within range congregated where the BBC was, as you can see. Joshua was very good at finding things of great interest “far from the madding crowd,” but when the BBC found something great, he made sure to get us there . . . along with everyone else.
