
The massed herd finally swam across while we were there, and all the swimmers made it safely, even though we secretly hoped a crocodile would grab one while we watched. Hey, crocodiles have to eat to live, just like the rest of us.
Photo journal of our three week safari in Africa, August 2002. A disclaimer: My observations of Africa have to be kept in context. As tourists,we traveled in a bubble of privilege. Conditions in Kenya especially have degenerated greatly since 2002. But for us, Africa was a place of beauty and wonder. Africa captivated me completely and forever.
